We are trying to create a light-industrial community that is spontaneous and self-organized. When a community is “spontaneous” it requires very little outside management – this could be advantageous to both the residents and the government.

For a spontaneous “emergent” community to happen, it requires 4 things:

1. Simple Code (or module) that governs all elements in the community.
2. Variations – for things to evolve on its own, a community must have the flexibility of uses.
3. Feedback – this could be in the form of public popularity of a certain variation or combination of uses within a building.
4. Imitation – after a successful variation has emerges, imitation would be followed automatically by others.
